The accolades continue to roll in for the newly released FCS II system. This time for the EuroSIMA Innovation Award that acknowledges new products within the surfing and boardsport industry.
The 2013 Waterman's Ball was recently held in Hossegor, France, and played host to the official EuroSIMA awards ceremony. The event honors and recognizes the outstanding contribution of companies, athletes and individuals who play an active role in helping develop the boardsports industry in Europe.
At the event FCS II received 5000 Euros prize and the Innovation Award which was judged by a panel of experts from EuroSIMA. FCSII is an innovative new system in which the fin locks into the plug, replacing the old method that required the use of grub screws. Thanks to this innovation, fins can now be attached easily in a matter of seconds.
Mike Durante, head designer at Surf Hardware International had this to say upon hearing the news. “We have a dedicated team of in-house designers who worked tirelessly on making FCS II a reality. Our aim was to provide a new, highly functional system that was easy to use, and above all delivered better performance. I think we achieved that, and we’re proud to see the new system in the market and in the boards of the world’s best surfers”.
Set to become the new world standard in fin system technology and performance, FCS II is designed to accommodate all surfers; regardless of their age demographic, surfing genre, or the boards and waves they’re riding.
The new system boasts a number of key advantages over its predecessors; firstly, it’s keyless and requires no tools or screws. Secondly, the leading edge of the fin resides inside the plug, and the base of the fins sit flush to the surface of the board. And lastly, the new system is backward compatible, meaning it will accept fins from the original dual tab system.
